Plans for a student block in Bangor backed by Gwynedd Council planners

Controversial plans to build 97 student flats on a city centre car park could be given the green light despite objections from residents, business owners and city councillors.

Gwynedd Council planning officials are recommending the proposal by Carlton for a six-storey building to include ground floor retail units and the student study bedrooms, on the site of the former N and F Discount Store in Bangor’s High Street, be approved.

An application to build a 109-room hostel on the site was turned down by Gwynedd Council two years ago …
