Marcus Worthington Properties secures planning consent for 416 bedroom student accommodation scheme in Manchester

Marcus Worthington Properties has announced it has received planning consent for a new 416 bedroom student accommodation scheme in Manchester worth over £22m. The project will be based at Moss Lane East, on the corner of the Oxford Road/Wilmslow Road corridor and at the heart of the University district.

As the site is currently a derelict car park with disused manufacturing buildings detracting from the appearance and character of the area, the plans have received a warm response from local residents. Nearby workers will also benefit as the company plans to hire local labourers where at all possible.

The proposal provides 416 en-suite study bedrooms arranged in clusters of between four and six, with a shared common room and kitchen per cluster.
