New 517-room Plymouth University halls of residence

Bristol-based architectural firm Willmore Iles has secured planning permission for a new 517 bedroom halls of residence for the University of Plymouth. The building will be situated at the former NAAFI building site which was refused listing by English Heritage earlier this year.

The prominent location has resulted in a high density development split into three blocks to allow an “historic route to the Hoe to be reintroduced, forming two courtyards and a ten-storey tower feature”.

The plans also include a large retail space on the ground floor as well as a coffee shop, reception and student study areas…
