Student accommodation group Unite in £144m asset sale

Student accommodation provider Unite Group has completed the planned sale of assets to the Unite UK Student Accommodation Fund, for £143.9m in cash.

The deal involves properties at four locations in London, Leeds and Bath containing a total of 1,679 bed spaces and which are 97% let for the 2010/11 academic year.

Unite operates a portfolio of student accommodation across the UK, including sites in Liverpool at Cambridge Court, Capital Gate, Cedar House, Larch House, Lennon Studios, The Railyard and its 13-storey Grand Central complex, next to Lime Street station, which is primarily home to 1,210 Liverpool John Moores university students…
