Construction work to proceed on south London student tower

Plans for a new student tower in south London have received local authority support, which could result in the creation of new construction jobs in the area.

The London Borough of Southwark has given its approval for the existing Capital House on Weston Street to be demolished and for construction work to take place on the 108-metre high ‘Quill’ tower in its stead.

Once completed, this new facility will comprise 470 units of student accommodation, as well as an ancillary bar, gym, library, student hub and retail and cafe units, while 261 cycle parking places will also be installed on the site …
