Haworth Tompkins’ Canning Town proposals in for planning

A masterplan drawn up by Aecom and Haworth Tompkins Architects has been submitted to the Thames Gateway Development Corporation.

The scheme is for a 6ha site at Canning Town in east London and as well as outline planning for the entire masterplan includes a detailed application for the first phase of the development – 179 homes and a new supermarket covering 7,000sq m.

It has been submitted by the development arm of French construction and telecoms giant Bouygues and affordable housing firm One Housing Group.

In all, the masterplan covers nearly 192,000sq m and will include offices, hotels and student accommodation along with 1,130 homes …
