Plans for old Jewsons site in Bangor thrown out
Controversial plans for the former Jewsons site in Bangor have been thrown out.
The proposed development by Hughes Bros Ltd, of Llangefni, would have seen the demolition of the existing buildings at Penlon Works, Hirael, on the High Street and the erection of seven new ones, creating 161 student flats.
Councillors refused the application saying it was an overdevelopment of the area, and would have had a signifcant affect on the character and amenities in the area …
