Green Light for 286 Student Bedrooms in Coventry

The final phase of an 18-year regeneration project in Coventry has been given the green light by council planners.

Gosford Gate, a £20m mixed-used development at the entrance of Far Gosford Street, will feature restaurants, shops and accommodation for 286 students.

It will also link Coventry University with the city’s creative quarter, anchored by FarGo Village.

The project will be delivered by Complex Development Projects (CDP), which has worked in partnership with Coventry City Council to regenerate the area, and Unite Students.

The scheme is the final phase of development in the regeneration of Far Gosford Street, which has included the restoration of existing properties and the creation of offices.

Ian Harrabin of CDP said: The university is a huge economic driver for this part of the city centre and the gap in the street left by the development of Sky Blue Way in the 1970s created a dead zone that severed the link.
