Two new student housing developments in Coventry given go-ahead by city council

Plans for the creation of nearly 1,400 new student bedrooms have been approved by Coventry City Council.

Proposals to build several accommodation blocks on disused land in London Road and an occupied industrial estate in Lower Ford Street were given the go-ahead at a meeting yesterday.

A total of 769 bedrooms will be built on land currently occupied by Norman Hay PLC in Lower Ford Street.

According to a report the firm “no longer considers the site to be suitable for its current operations.
