New student accommodation in Stirling step closer

A major redevelopment of residential student accommodation on the Stirling University campus moved one step closer this week.

The university wants to demolish existing buildings and build 80 flats, 22 studios, 11 townhouses and nine family flats.
Stirling Council planners are backing the proposals subject to conditions.

The university finished a comprehensive review of its residential strategy in 2010. It concluded that part of the original on-campus accommodation was past its best and would need major change and substantial investment if it were to meet future requirements …
