Edge Hill university submits application for 168 bed student accommodation block

Plans to build a 168-bed accommodation block on campus have been submitted by Edge Hill University.

The Ormskirk institution wants to build the new block on the south west of the campus, near the newly built phase 10 block.

All the bedrooms will be single-study and en-suite and are expected to be ready for the 2016/2017 academic year.

The accommodation is arranged in three L-shape blocks that repeat the modular design and floorplan used for the adjacent Phase 10 courtyard development and in varying combinations throughout the University since 2008.

Each L-shape block contains 56 bedrooms, providing 168 in total.

The accommodation will not be provided with dedicated car parking spaces and in common with all other on-campus residences, students will be prevented from parking a car at the campus under the terms of their tenancy agreement …
