More Birmingham student accommodation set for go ahead

A pair of developments which will provide more than 210 bedrooms for students in Birmingham are set to be given the green light tomorrow.

Birmingham City Council’s planning committee is expected to follow officers’ recommendations and approve the projects in Nechells and the city centre.

In September, the Post reported that plans had been lodged by Birmingham-based Millenium Holdings to redevelop land between Windsor Street and Kellett Road, east of Aston University’s campus

The building would range from two to four storeys and provide 72 bedrooms across a mix of studios and shared flats, 34 bikes spaces but none for cars.

Manchester-based O’Connell East Architects has designed the project while the directors of Millenium Holdings have previous experience in the hospitality and care home industries …
