Plymouth city planners approve projects worth £559m over 12 months
More than 500 new student homes at the Hoe Centre in Notte Street, part of a £21million development, were also given the thumbs-up.
Councillor Ted Fry, cabinet member for planning, strategic housing and economic growth, said: “Our planning services are paving the way for development during what has been a testing time for everyone.
“By delivering decisions quickly and efficiently we are encouraging development, investment and confidence in the city.”
