New plans for student flats on Northampton factory site
Developers hoping to build student flats in a Northampton street say they will work with the police to prevent anti-social behaviour.
Plans to build a block of student flats on the site of the former Bective Works shoe factory, in Bective Road, Kingsthorpe, were first revealed in October 2011. Initially, the developers wanted to build 406 flats but reduced that number to 399 after nearby residents expressed concern about the plans. Despite the reduction, the scheme was blocked by the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) in February.
